HIM AND HER – 2

(Psalm 37 1-7) Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong;

2 for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. 3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
 dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. 4 Take delight in the Lord,
 and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:

6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. 7 Be still before the Lord 
and wait patiently for him;

1.             Waiting on God is an active thing.

(Psalm 37:3) Trust in the Lord and do good;
 dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

2.             Camp out in the place of truth.

(Psalm 37:3) Trust in the Lord and do good;

(Ephesians 4:20-24) That, however, is not the way of life you learned 21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

(Isaiah 53:5) But he was pierced for our transgressions, 
he was crushed for our iniquities;
 the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
 and by his wounds we are healed.

3.             Prepare the soil for the harvest we are dreaming about.

(Psalm 37:3) Trust in the Lord and do good;
 dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

(Proverbs 11:14) For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.

(Proverbs 15:22) Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

(Philippians 4:8) Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

4.             Seek God above all.

(Psalm 37:4) Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.
