Oh, Blest Communion, Fellowship Divine

Series: Season of Pentecost 2018

Rev. Jake Allstaedt

"Oh, blest communion, fellowship divine! We feebly struggle, they in glory shine; Yet all are one in Thee, for all are Thine. Alleluia! Alleluia!" The fourth verse of the popular All Saints' Day hymn, "For All the Saints," calls attention to the connection we share with the saints who have gone before us and are now at rest with Jesus. We remember and celebrate today that we, with those saints, are intimately, mystically, and forever joined to Jesus through Baptism. We are all one in Him, for all who have been baptized into Jesus belong to Him. All of us, as the Church, the Bride of Christ, His Body, His saints, await His coming. Until then, we are strengthened in faith, trusting that what Christ has done for the saints in heaven is ours as well.
