Professor Alaric Tokpa

Professor Alaric Tokpa is a political scientist from Liberia. He has been in the struggle for the freedom of his people for more than three decades. He has landed in state prisons in the fight for freedom and justice. During the era of the military junta in the 1980s, he went to jail in the name of advocacy and social liberation. As a student leader and a revolutionary then, Alaric has always felt a need to speak for the poor and the oppressed of society. Today in Liberia, many believe that the nation is heading in the wrong direction under the corrupt regime of George Weah. Alaric spoke recently to our microphone about the need for the Liberian opposition to stand together in removing and defeating George Weah in the 2023 General and Presidential Elections.

Episode Notes

The US as a partner of Liberia must ensure that there is sustainable democracy in Liberia. The current Liberian government is undermining democracy so say Liberian opposition politician professor Alaric Tokpa.
