Many people falsely claim it isn't true or that they argue about the timing of it. This has led to many terrible false teachings designed to confuse people and lead them away from the truth. The rapture is real and will happen before the 7-year tribulation starts. It has to according to Paul. The Bible is so clear on this issue but many have changed the Bible to say things it doesn't.
