October 28, 2021
Frank Foreman

Sometimes very descriptive words get hijacked by culture. Such is the case with the word "radical." The words seems diminished due to the overuse of the word as a trite descriptive term. ---------- In the second half of this message, Frank discusses that while many people today have settled into a casual form of Christianity, Jesus calls us to be radical followers; people who dedicated to living a life of purity in the midst of a world and culture seemingly void of it. ---------- We hope that as you join us and hear the Word of God taught, that His Spirit would guide you into an understanding that helps you to grow in wisdom and in truth.

Episode Notes

(Journal) Verses 43-48

Romans 8:13, For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Colossians 3:5, Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Jesus taught that the battle against sin includes all aspects of life:

  • What we do. (Hands)

Romans 7:18-20, For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.

Ephesians 5:1-2, Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

  • Where we go. (Feet)

Psalm 1:1-3, Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the Law of the LORD, and on His Law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

  • What we see. (Eyes)

Matthew 6:22-23, The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
