John 17:17, Sanctify them in the truth; Your Word is truth. The philosophical notion of truth in our society and culture can best be described as fluid. To many people today, truth is not based on an absolute concept but rather more based upon each person's personal opinion and/or perception of it. ---------- Of course, with God, truth is something vastly different. It is one of the defining character traits of our Heavenly Father, and it is absolute in its meaning and impact. If truth was pliable rather than definitive, then it severely undermines the sovereignty of God. This Sunday, Frank shares a message teaching on God's character defined by such absolute truth.

1st John 5:19-20, We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Big Idea: God’s Word is absolutely reliable….
And perfectly consistent with His character.
1. Truth is absolute.
John 14:6, Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
2. Truth is flawless.
Psalm 18:30, This God—His way is perfect; the Word of the LORD proves true;
He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him.
3. Truth is revealed.
2nd Timothy 3:16-17, All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
John 17:17, Sanctify them in the truth; Your Word is truth.
Sanctify: To separate from profane things and dedicate to God.
Acts 26:18, …to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.
Next Step: Pray that God uses us to open eyes so that people may turn to Him.
