Goodness, Mercy & Eternity

Series: PSALMS

February 25, 2018
Frank Foreman

The eighth and final sermon in a series of messages from the book of Psalms. On this week, we also conclude the "series within the series" with a focus on the twenty-third chapter of Psalms. As we look at the sixth verse of this familiar chapter we are reminded that God will continue to pursue us with a desire to secure us for eternity.

Episode Notes

Psalm 23:6 ... Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

God will never give up on YOU…  Don’t give up on HIM

1.  David EXPERIENCED the PURPOSE for God’s goodness and mercy

Romans 2:4 ... Or do you presume on the riches of His kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?

2.  David EXALTED God’s relentless PURSUIT of sinful people

1st John 4:18-19 ... There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.  For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.  We love because He first loved us.

3.  David EXPECTED unlimited OPPORTUNITIES for fellowship with God

Ecclesiastes 3:11 ... He has made everything beautiful in its time.  Also, He has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

Challenge:  Live in the PRESENT but keep your eyes on ETERNITY
