Episode Notes

Colossians 2:12-13 ... "12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. 13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,"

Colossians 2:14 ... "By canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This He set aside, nailing it to the cross."

Three pictures of forgiveness: Accomplished through the CROSS... Accepted through BAPTISM

I am RAISED to a new life.

Colossians 2.13 ... "God made alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,"

2nd Corinthians 1:9 ... "Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead."

My arrest warrant is ERASED

Colossians 2.14 ... "by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands."

Psalm 103:12 ... "As far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us."

My past is NAILED to the cross.

Colossians 2.14 ... "This He set aside, nailing it to the cross."

Matthew 27:37 ... "And over His head they put the charge against Him, which read, 'This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.'”

It was not the NAILS that held Jesus on the cross... It was His LOVE for you and me.
