His Glory IS Our Joy

Series: Philippians

What does it mean when Paul says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" in Philippians 4? Does it mean that through the power of positive thinking, with a sprinkle of Godly goodness, we can accomplish anything in this life? Or is there something deeper, more spiritual, at the heart of his statement. Frank Foreman shares the final message in our current sermon series as a summation of Paul's writing to the Philippian Christians.

Episode Notes

Pause to Consider: What do you recall about the writer & recipients of this letter?

Philippians 4:10-23

1.  I can do all things through Christ.

God will lend me His strength to be content in the midst of my troubles.

2.  God will supply my every need.

God’s faithful followers will be fully supplied with all they need to serve.

BIG IDEA:  God is infinitely more interested in His glory than my comfort...  There is no greater joy.

Isaiah 43:7,  ...everyone who is called by My name, whom I created for My glory, whom I formed and made.

NEXT STEP:  Make God’s glory your highest priority.

  • Be content in any circumstance.
  • Trust His provision for His purpose.
  • Agree with everything He says.
  • Submit to Him and His commands.
  • Tell of His mercy and love.
