The seventh sermon in a series of messages from the book of Psalms. On this week, we continue the "series within the series" with a focus on the twenty-third chapter of Psalms. As we look at the fifth verse of this familiar chapter we are reminded of God's adoption of us and our invitation to come to eat at His table.

Episode Notes

Psalm 23:5 ... You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil;  my cup overflows.

You have followed the Shepherd down right paths and even through danger…  Now CELEBRATE in His VICTORY

1.  God WELCOMES you.

2nd Samuel 9:11 ... Then Ziba said to the king, “According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so will your servant do.” So Mephibosheth ate at David's table, like one of the king's sons.

  • Your STATUS isn’t determined by your ABILITY

2.  God VALUES you

Luke 7:37-38 ... And behold, a woman of the city, who was a sinner, when she learned that He was reclining at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment, and standing behind Him at His feet, weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed His feet and anointed them with the ointment.

  • Your PRESENT isn’t determined by your PAST

3.  God BLESSES you

Mark 14:36 ... And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You.  Remove this cup from Me.  Yet not what I will, but what You will.”

  • Your JOY is determined by His SUFFERING

Challenge:  How can you welcome, value, and bless others?

NOTHING SHORT OF INVITING THEM TO THE BANQUET
