4/28/2024 Matthew 24:3-22 It’s beginning to look a Lot like Christ is Coming Intro: You know the Christmas song…”it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas?” I think Bing Crosby did the most well known version of it. Well….. you know Christmas is near when you see the Pumpkins appearing, Right? Halloween is here to scare us and deceive us. Well the pumpkins are already here! Actually the Thanksgiving turkey has already been prepared and ready to be consumed. The world is getting ready for judgment. it is just at the verge. Soon Christmas will be here….Jesus is coming! Not to be born….but He’s coming again to rule and reign this time and judge an unbelieving world.

4/28/2024 Romans 13:1-6 Give me liberty or give me death Intro: Patrick Henry quoted those famous words. And it has been the clarion call for all nations under God even today. The key word for citizens in Romans 13 to obey the government is the word “liberty.” If we don’t have liberty….liberty of worship, property ownership and basic human rights then we must do all that we can to oppose that government, as it clearly opposes God’s mandates for human governance. We must obey God rather than men which is our first and foremost goal in every part of civil society.

4/21/2024 Romans 2:4 The Goodness of God Intro: What does it mean to be good? We don’t’ know because we are not good. We have times when we are good. We have moments. But God is good all of the time. That should give us great assurance and confidence in Him. He will always do what is right, what is best for us in the LONG run. This is not a sprint……this life we live…… it is an endurance race. And we WIN! We win because God is God and God is Good!

4/14/2024 Psalm 89:29-37 God Will Keep His Promises To Israel Intro: Has it begun? The end of Israel? Of course not. Let me say this…..The Biden Administration has given relief of sanctions and also flat out given lran one hundred BILLION dollars which has allowed Iran to have 200 drones and rockets. And then the United States has to shoot down their own drones and rockets!! What did they think Iran would do with that money? They could care less if their citizens have medicines or food. They just want to destroy Israel. This is NOT the Gog-Magog war yet! Iran is east of Israel. Maybe slightly north-east. The Gog-Magog invasion will come from the north of Israel led by Russian, Iran and Turkey at a time when Israel is living in peace.

Well…..He is going to when the last person has come to faith in Jesus Christ. But why doesn’t He do it now? Why does He allow suffering and death and war and tragedies? This passage answers that question for everyone.

4/7/2024 Morning Psalm 42:5, 11 and 43:5 Why I Should Never Be Discouraged Intro: Matthew Henry speculates that David might have written this psalm when he was prevented from to the sanctuary in Jerusalem, either due to persecution by Saul or because of Absalmon’s revolt. David was in despair. Jesus Christ was in despair the night before He was crucified. Some of this describes Jesus human emotions the night before He was crucified. Christians….. we have all been in this situation where we get sad and overwhelmed at times. That will come….. but it’s wasn’t the end for David, Jesus Christ or us today.

3/31/2024 Colossians 1:13-19 Jesus Christ—First Among All Things Intro: We all want to be on the winning team right? Well Jesus Christ is the first and the last and everything in between. He wins it all because He was willing to lose His mortal life in order to save us for ever and ever! And even then He didn’t lose He gained eternal life for everyone. When He rose on the third day that was our guarantee that He did win over death, hell and the grave and that we will also.

3/24/2024 Daniel 9:24-26 Palm Sunday and the Cross in Daniel Intro: The Cross and the triumphant entry into Jerusalem is here in Daniel 9:25-26. This prophecy is for God’s people Israel, the Jewish people. God is telling them they will be under Gentile domination for 490 years to make up for the seventy sabbaths they missed when they had kings. God will make them pay seven times for that sin. 70 x 7 equals 490 years. It begins with rebuilding Israel and ends with the Jesus coming to rule and reign over His people Israel in His land Israel.

Even in terrible judgment, God is a God of hope (Lamentations 3:24-25). No matter how far we have gone from Him, we have the hope that we can return to Him and find Him compassionate and forgiving (1 John 1:9). Our God is a loving God (Lamentations 3:22), and because of His great love and compassion, He sent His Son so that we would not perish in our sins, but can live eternally with Him (John 3:16). God’s faithfulness (Lamentations 3:23) and deliverance (Lamentations 3:26) are attributes that give us great hope and comfort. He is not a disinterested, capricious god, but a God who will deliver all those who turn to Him, admit they can do nothing to earn His favor, and call upon the Lord’s mercy so that we will not be consumed (Lamentations 3:22).

3/17/2024 Mark 5:14-17 Why Would People Not Want Jesus? Intro: The world is rejecting truth for deception and lies. They have rejected The God of the Bible. Only a remnant of believers remain in the world today. Perhaps a billion. That would be 1 in 8 people in the world follows Jesus Christ. I would say it’s more like one in 25 Christians in the world which would mean there might be 360 million true followers of Jesus Christ in the world today. Why does the world NOT want Jesus? We will look at this today.

3/17/2024 Psalm 95:3 FALSE GODS THAT STILL INFLUENCE MANKIND TODAY There are many false “gods’’ of mythology. Egypt, Mesopotamia, Babylon, Pheonicians, Caannaites, Assyrians, Greeks and other middle eastern peoples are responsible for the vast majority of these false gods which number in the Hundreds. Many are the same god only with different names in different cultures. I am only going to mention the ones that are in the Bible and two with the Catholic church. The reason is that if the word of God mentioned them …..they first of all are Real. Secondly they are still active today. The others may be real or not and we are certain that many false gods are in the world that are not mentioned in the Bible. But these may or may not be active today. And they may be operating under different names but are really the same false gods mentioned in the Bible. Psalm 95:3 For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

3/10/2024 Acts 13:6-12 Opposition To Christ Intro: Don’t be shocked but the devil doesn’t want you here today. The devil hates your Jesus. The devil hates your Bible. The Devil hates your church (if it is preaching the word of God) He will do anything he can to oppose you and literally kill you if he could. He is fueling all the opponents to faith and trust in Jesus Christ. All the media, news, university elites and world elites are opposed to faith and trust in Jesus Christ. In fact, most everybody in the world is opposed to the word of God and Jesus Christ! Paul faced opposition all the time as we do today. What did he do?

/10/2024 Matthew 27:50-53 Resurrected Saints Intro: One of the most mysterious and interesting things happened at the time of Jesus death and resurrection and is only mentioned in the book of Matthew. Like Lazarus resurrection is only mentioned in the book of John. These two are similar in many ways. But different also. They both center around Jesus of course. Who broke up two funerals on Jarius Daughter, and the centurions daughter and later Paul through the apostalistic power of Jesus……brought Eutycus back to life after falling out of a window. So with Jesus being the resurrection and the life He has the power in life and in death and taking up life again. But what happened after Jesus death?

3/3/2024 Colossians 3:8-11 How To Be Spiritually Dressed Intro: We put off old clothes when we want to look our best. We put on things that make us reflect dignity, beauty, honor and respect. And the way we look should reflect love and respect for our family, our friends and our community. We as a church are in the greatest community in the world. A community of believers in Jesus Christ who are seeking to bring glory and honor to Him and love and respect to each other. So we know how to dress physically but how do we dress spiritually. What do we put on for Christ? Christ tells us what to put off and things to put on as we dress ourselves spiritually.

3/3/2024 Genesis chapters 1 and 2 and Revelation 21 and 22 the Real Normal Intro: What is normal? In our world today that is hard to say . Everything we thought or think is normal is different. They call it the new normal. Fear is normal. Hate is normal. Chaos is normal. Pleasure is fleeting. War is normal. Murder is normal. Disease is normal. Tragedy is normal. And of course order, happiness and joy are limited and peace is very limited. But that’s normal for this sin cursed world. But what is considered normal for God and His creation?

2/25/2024 John 1: 10-17 The Answer To Every Question Intro: We have so many questions is life. Where did we come from? Where are we going? What is the purpose to life? What is life? Who killed JFK? Why did God create Duke University? So many questions. Well, I have the answer. The answer is in a person. The question is not WHAT is the answer to every question but WHO is the answer to every question.

2/18/2024 1 Thessalonians 1:1-7 Thessalonians A Great Church In Tough Times Intro: Paul started the church at Thessalonica. Acts 17:1-4 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: 2And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, 3Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. 4And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few. Thessalonica was an important Grecian metropolis by the Roman period of history. It was the second largest city of the Byzantine empire. It was located on the intersection of two Romans roads. It was a major port. It was a center of paganism and also a fairly influential Jewish population. Jews from Thessalonica forced Paul to flee the city for awhile even though in three weeks he established a strong church there made up of mostly gentiles. Today it is the modern city of Thessaloniki in Greece. About one million population.

2/18/2024 1 and 2 Thessalonians… The Little Revelation and Daniel Intro: Paul’s two letters to the Thessalonians reveal things about the day of the Lord that expounds upon the words of Daniel and John the Revelator. The books of 1 and 2 Thessalonians talks a lot about the end times. It covers the wrath of God, the rapture of the church, preparing for the day of the Lord and the appearance of the anti-Christ, the man of sin and son of perdition. A wealth of information that fits right in with what we read in Daniel and Revelation. 1 and 2nd Thessalonians is often overlooked and not appreciated by many for it’s last days information…….but not by us here today!
